Running the Windows 10 upgrade on a system that isn’t ready for it could be compromising to you, your company and your technology.

To ensure you are prepared for the upgrade, we first recommend relying on your IT manager, or partner, to work with you to evaluate your readiness before you download and install.  If you are going it alone, make sure you run through this upgrade checklist first.

  1. Make sure your computer is fully up to date with previous updates.
  2. Check Windows 10 compatibility with all vendors, including line of business applications, EMRs, Antivirus software, etc.
  3. Ensure you are backed-up!
  4. If you are upgrading on your company system, test the upgrade on a few machines first. Don’t upgrade all at once!
  5. For those in a work group or stand alone, when the pop-up prompt appears, you can run the compatibility test offered or even search for one online.
